Spinal Tap Joins Forces With Elton John and Music Legends on Their Explosive Comeback Album

Heavy metal icons Spinal Tap have officially returned — and louder than ever. On Thursday, the band released a re-recorded version of their cult favorite track “Stonehenge”, now featuring none other than Elton John, via Interscope Records.

The song will be part of their upcoming album The End Continues, which ties into the long-awaited sequel film Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, set to hit theaters on September 12, 2025.

The 13-track album includes nine brand-new songs and four reimagined classics, with special guests such as Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood. A new trailer for the film, featuring a snippet of the “Stonehenge” remake, premiered during the San Diego Comic-Con 2025 at the “Directors on Directing” panel with Rob Reiner and Paul Feig.

The sequel picks up 41 years after the original cult-classic This Is Spinal Tap (1984). Bandmates David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, and Derek Smalls (played by Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer) must reunite for one final performance. Once again, documentarian Marty Di Bergi (Rob Reiner) joins them to capture this chaotic and emotional comeback as the group reflects on legacy, aging, and the ridiculousness of fame.

The movie and the album aim to cement Spinal Tap’s place in rock history — one last time.
