Pamela Anderson Shares How Liam Neeson Helped Calm Her Nerves During The Naked Gun Shoot: ‘I’ve Never Felt That Before’
Pamela Anderson admitted she was nervous stepping into a comedic role in the reboot The Naked Gun, but Liam Neeson’s calming presence made all the difference on set.
In an interview with The New York Times published July 31, Anderson (58) and Neeson (73) — who are reportedly in the “early stages” of dating according to a source — reflected on their experience filming the new spoof movie. Anderson praised Neeson’s kindness and charisma, saying his simple encouragement, “You’re doing great,” gave her confidence.
“He has so much charm and charisma, you just fall into it,” Anderson told the Times. “I can’t explain it — I’ve never felt that before. Doing comedy is all energy, and when you’re part of something so light and silly, it’s uplifting. Liam’s done over 100 films — hopefully, this inspired him to keep going.”
Neeson plays LAPD detective Frank Drebin Jr., while Anderson portrays Beth, a woman convinced her brother was murdered. The two go on a ridiculous adventure across Los Angeles in classic Naked Gun fashion.
The original Naked Gun franchise, stemming from the 1982 TV show Police Squad!, is known for its over-the-top satire. Although Neeson is famous for intense roles like Schindler’s List and Taken, he admitted feeling unsure about his comedic skills. “I don’t consider myself funny, but I love to laugh,” he said. After watching the film, he shared, “I thought I did alright, honestly.”
As the film’s release nears (August 1), the duo’s chemistry has sparked dating rumors. “It’s a budding romance — genuine and sweet,” a source told PEOPLE, adding that they’re “clearly enjoying each other’s company.
