Following the original 2008 home invasion classic and its sequel The Strangers: Prey at Night, director Renny Harlin reignited the nightmare in 2024 with The Strangers: Chapter 1. Now, the terror resumes with The Strangers — Chapter 2, set to hit theaters on September 26.
Collider’s Exclusive Preview offers a terrifying first look at Madelaine Petsch’s Maya, cornered and desperate, pressed against an emergency exit door bathed in ominous red light. From early footage, this moment likely takes place during the opening hospital sequence, where Maya attempts a near-impossible escape.
The sequel picks up right after Chapter 1, with Maya surviving an attack by a masked trio—though her boyfriend, Ryan (Froy Gutierrez), wasn’t as fortunate. Determined to flee yet hungry for justice, she faces the relentless killers once more. Returning cast members include Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent) and Ema Horvath (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power).
Renny Harlin, known for Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, and horror favorites like A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, returns to direct. Writers Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freeland also reprise their roles from Chapter 1, promising more twists, intense chases, and unrelenting suspense.
