Lee: A Celebration of Truth, Art, and Resilience

Step into an unforgettable evening of art, cinema, and history! On the last Saturday of November, actors, designers, editors, and filmmakers gathered in Soho, London, for an intimate screening of Lee, the latest film starring Kate Winslet. Inspired by the extraordinary life of war photographer Lee Miller, the movie delves into her experiences covering World War II for Vogue.

Co-hosted by Anna Wintour, Chioma Nnadi, and Winslet, the event at Ham Yard Hotel was more than just a screening. It featured a special exhibition showcasing costumes worn by Winslet, original Rolleiflex cameras used by Miller, and historic photographs, including Miller’s iconic bath photo in Hitler’s tub from 1945.

Winslet captivated the audience with heartfelt remarks about the film’s nine-year journey. “This film was built on great relationships, both old and new. It honors Miller’s truth and the power of authentic storytelling, no matter the personal cost,” she said.

The film portrays Miller’s complexity—her courage and determination alongside the struggles she faced with trauma and addiction. Balancing darkness with moments of levity, Lee is a compelling tribute to a woman who shaped photojournalism with her fearless pursuit of the truth.
