Chosen by a committee of Thai film industry experts, the movie stood out among 49 contenders for its “exceptional quality, heartfelt storyline, and international appeal.” Directed by Pat Boonnitipat, the film has already grossed an impressive $50 million worldwide and is available on Netflix.
The plot follows M, a directionless young man whose biggest ambition is live-streaming his online games. Upon learning that his grandmother has Stage 4 cancer, he volunteers to take care of her—not out of love, but hoping to inherit her house. However, living with his grandmother brings him closer to understanding the intricacies of his Thai-Chinese family, offering universal lessons about love, sacrifice, and family.
