Brad Pitt Hits the Track in High-Stakes Comeback Story in New F1 Trailer

Start your engines! The full trailer for F1, starring Brad Pitt, has arrived — and it’s packed with high-octane intensity and emotional stakes. Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver who returns to the grid with the fictional team APXGP, facing his past and seeking redemption.

In the trailer, Sonny is warned by Kate (Kerry Condon): “Let’s get this straight — we all lose our jobs if you can’t pull off a miracle.” Sonny quips, “No pressure,” to which his loyal friend Ruben (Javier Bardem) adds, “None.”

The star-studded cast also includes Damson Idris as Joshua, a rising rookie who clashes with Sonny’s old-school methods. “You’re making a mistake thinking I’ll just bend the knee to an old-timer,” Joshua warns. But as the rivalry softens, trust begins to build. “Three laps,” Sonny says, “Three laps is a lifetime.”

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), the film blends stunning racing visuals with a heartfelt story of mentorship and legacy. Kosinski confirmed that both Pitt and Idris drove real F1 cars on official tracks, after months of intense training — guided by none other than Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion and producer of the film.

Brad Pitt expressed his passion for the project in an interview with Sky Sports: “It’s the best time of my life. The energy, the vibe — I’m just thrilled to be a part of it and tell this story.”

F1 hits theaters and IMAX on June 27, 2025.
